Is it normal to feel thirsty all the time? I am about 10 weeks pregnant.

I have always drunk a lot of water throughout the day and don't go to the toilet very often. I guess my body just absorbs a lot of water but now i'm pregnant i feel so much more thirsty and all the time!

I am 12 weeks pregnant and can't go anywhere without a drink, I constantly am drinking water and nothing quenches my thirst. I popped out the other day without a drink and felt like I hadn't had a drink for hours.my midwife told me yesterday that it is perfectly normal, but if you are not going to the toilet very much pop a urine sample into the drs to check, as water infections can go unnoticed for a while. Good luck x

I am quite thirsty all the time as well, and I am now 30 weeks pregnant. I need to have a bottle of water with me all the time. At night I just put a small bottle next to my bed, because I sometimes wake up very thirsty, and feel my mouth is really dry. At work I usually drink 1 to 1,5 litre of water. I also drink weak tea, but it doesn't seem to be working out as well as plain water. Of course because of that I need the toilet more often, but it seems that the balance between intake and out-take is normal.

I am so glad you posted this as I have never experienced a thirst like this before in my life! I would drink 500ml water and go straight on to next 500. My mum is a nurse and ended up checking my blood sugar level just to make sure I am not diabetic!!! Glad midwife yd you it's normal.
I'm getting my scan on Tuesday which I just can't wait for! Have not net midwife yet so had planned on asking her about this thirst. At the end if the day we need to remember baby is taking so many nutrients etc from us and its bound to be leaving us tired thirsty etc.

:-)
